A BABY... what?

sooooooo… I have my feet up, finally ~ watching Family Feud before I go to bed & my husband, Mike, says a baby bird has fallen out of a tree. So up I get, before our barn cat thinks this tree is handing out snacks… On my way out of the door Mike updates me that it isn’t a bird but a baby squirrel. AWWWWW… (this is where I start to argue with myself, no you can’t keep it…!!!)
Upon arriving at the scene, I was expecting to see something on the ground ~ but it was half way up the tree. This, in my humble opinion, is not a squirrel… I thought it was a sugar glider… but I googled pictures of babies & it doesn’t look like that either.
What is this then, anyone know? It is as big as a large orange, huge eyes, wide flat tail.
